There is more than one useful way to ask for a riddle, so the collection is organised four ways at once. Which grouping you want depends on what you are actually trying to do.

Browsing by age

Riddles for Kids, Riddles for Teens and Riddles for Adults are graded by vocabulary, length and the kind of knowledge a riddle assumes rather than by how hard it is. A kids' riddle can be genuinely difficult; what makes it a kids' riddle is that everything needed to solve it is inside a ten-year-old's experience. This is the grouping to use if you are a parent or a teacher and the audience is fixed.

Browsing by difficulty

Easy, Medium, Hard and Expert, plus Short and Long for when the constraint is time rather than difficulty. Ratings are editorial: they come from riddle length, vocabulary, the number of logical steps and how much lateral thinking is needed. Use this grouping when you are running a quiz and need to control the curve - open easy, finish hard.
